Foley Catheter

My purple clinical equipment
Yesterday was my first day of clinical for this semester (the practical part of nursing school, spent at the local hospital). My shift lasts from 2.30pm to 10.30pm. I am totally used to the morning shift, so this  requires some adjustment.
Now to the exciting part of my night: I finally had the chance to insert a Foley catheter. Yes, I am extremely excited about this! haha

I have a feeling that I've become more confident, especially since I have been working at the assistant living place. The more I interact with residents and patients, the better I feel about myself and the skills I learned in school. My plan is to take every opportunity to perform any kind of procedure I can get my hands on. That way, I will learn and improve my clinical skills!

Next thing on the list: Starting an IV.

Greetings from the ambitious Midwest,
Lotte

  1. Hi! It's cute that you've started the practical part and that it's going well. I'm starting Architecture this year, and I don't know what I'll do when my practical part starts xDD
The purple clinical equipment is cool. I didn't know it existed on colors!

    See ya, good luck!
